While the specialists USMD Hospital at Arlington represent a wide variety of professional disciplines, they have one thing in common: They have at their disposal some of the most advanced diagnostic, medical and surgical technology available in North Texas today.

General Surgery

General surgeons at USMD Hospital provide care for both routine and complex surgical procedures almost anywhere on the body. Some of the areas of special interest include gastrointestinal (stomach, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, colon/rectum, inflammatory bowel disease), breast disease, hernias, thyroid and cancer. Depending on the condition, general surgeons may use open abdominal incisions, laparoscopy or minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and treat disease, injuries or deformity.

Colon and Rectal Care

For many of us, it's easy to neglect our colon health until there's a problem. Thankfully, colon cancer, which affects men and women in equal numbers, can be prevented by the timely removal of precancerous polyps. Beginning at age 50, your physician may recommend a flexible sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy to detect abnormalities at an early stage.

PPH Treatment for Hemorrhoids
Before, the only thing more uncomfortable than a hemorrhoid was the treatment for it. So when a new procedure was announced, people everywhere breathed a collective sigh of relief. PPH is a new, effective treatment for hemorrhoids. This minimally invasive surgery allows for faster recovery with less discomfort. Read more...

Plastic Surgery

Whether cosmetic or reconstructive, plastic surgery promotes and encourages a positive self-image. Even a small change on the outside can create a significant change on the inside. Our plastic surgeons specialize in cosmetic and reconstructive procedures including:

  • Facial rejuvenation (facelift, browlift, eyelids)
  • Breast surgery (augmentation, reduction, reconstruction after mastectomy)
  • Body contouring (abdominoplasty, liposuction)

Otolaryngology

Otolaryngologists are surgeons who specialize in the diagnosis and medical/surgical management of diseases and disorders of the ear, nose and throat as well as related structures of the head and neck. At USMD Hospital at Arlington, our otolaryngologists use state-of-the-art techniques to treat a variety of problems, including hearing loss, ear infections, balance and facial nerve disorders, sinus and allergy, voice and swallowing disorders

Podiatric Care

It's easy to neglect our feet and ankles until something hurts or interferes with our walking around. Podiatrists at USMD Hospital at Arlington are dedicated to preventing, diagnosing and treating disorders of the lower extremities, particularly the feet and ankles, such as injuries, bunions, hammertoes, heel pain and toenail problems. Sometimes, when foot problems do not respond to other treatments, podiatrists perform surgical procedures to alleviate pain and restore function. Podiatrists are also experts on orthotics (shoe inserts that correct abnormal walking patterns), diabetic foot care and sport-related conditions.
