Pain Management
At USMD Hospital at Arlington, we work closely with you and your family to determine the most effective and least invasive spinal treatment options available. We can assist you with issues including degenerative disc disease, herniated discs, arthritis of the spine and injuries to the spine. And as always, an emphasis is placed on educating you about the implications of your unique diagnosis and treatment options.

Conditions that our skilled physicians frequently treat include:

  • Injury, trauma to the back/neck/spine
  • Malignant and benign spinal tumors
  • Strains and sprains
  • Herniated discs
  • Spinal stenosis
  • Scoliosis
  • Spinal cord compression and paralysis
  • Chronic pain

Our multidisciplinary approach to spine care involves a team of spine specialists, pain management specialists and physical therapists. You will receive a customized, comprehensive treatment plan designed by your team of physicians, and a USMD patient advocate will coordinate your care among the specialists, including appointments for MRIs, physical therapy - whatever your treatment plan calls for.

Surgical Options

USMD physicians explore all options before considering surgical methods. When surgery is required, the least invasive procedures are always preferred. For example, USMD surgeons use state-of-the-art technology such as SpineAssist®, the revolutionary miniature robotic guidance system that brings more precision, less intervention and quicker recovery than traditional spinal surgeries.

Just as effective as conventional surgery, minimally invasive procedures can successfully treat back problems with little interruption of your daily activities. Read more...

Pain Management

For chronic pain, therapies may include medication, physical therapy, therapeutic nerve blocks, implantable medical devices, neuroablation and neuropsychological assessments. Your doctor will discuss all options before beginning treatment. Read more...
